What do we do?
Sessions are a mixture of coaching and games. Our aim is to coach children aged 6 to 17 all aspects of the game of badminton, but above all it is about playing an exciting sport and having some fun. New players are given individual help with basic racket skills, whilst more experienced players practice shots in a group. The latter part of each session is spent playing competitive games. The sports hall has 4 courts with around 24 players per session.
There are competitions throughout the year and trophies to be won at the end of the season. The top players compete to win the coveted Gloria Hudson Rose Bowl. Those who want to progress will also have the opportunity to join the Warwickshire County junior squad. Warwickshire Badminton Association also organise singles and doubles tournaments for players who are not in the county squad. Each year the squad enters a junior team tournament in Warwickshire, and also fields a team in one of the mens divisions of the Rugby and District league. Older players often play league matches for other clubs in the district. Click on the menu for ‘competitions’ to see how the squad has performed in the past.

What will you need?
If you have a badminton racket please bring it along. For those who do not own a racket we do have a selection of rackets that can be borrowed each week free of charge, especially short handled ones for the younger players.
Sports clothing is best (warmer clothing in winter) and soft-soled sports shoes are safer than hard soled trainers. Nets and shuttles are provided.
What does it cost?
The season runs from September through to May. Fees are currently under £20 per half term.
