Audrey Deeley joined the squad in 2007 but, after 14 years as a dedicated volunteer, she has been advised to cut down her activities on health grounds. Sadly that means she has had to step down as coach and treasurer. Her contribution has been immeasurable and she will be sorely missed. Audrey was always first at the Sports Centre on Saturday morning, often setting up the courts before anyone else arrived. As well as managing the finances she also ensured there was sufficient stock of everything from shuttles to first aid items. Over the years many youngsters have benefitted from her encouragement and guidance as a coach. For a number of years she managed our Under-13 team at the Warwickshire Junior Team tournament and they achieved notable success.
At the session on October 2nd the players presented Audrey with a card and a voucher for a weekend hotel break in recognition of everything she has done for them.
Audrey leaves the club in a very healthy situation and will no doubt pop in from time to time to make sure we keep up her good work !
We were very fortunate that Nags Mistry volunteered to step in to the treasurer role and assist with sessions.
