Welfare

Rugby Youth Badminton Squad follow Badminton England (BE) guidelines for child welfare.  Players, parents and coaches are requested to follow the guidelines in our Code of Conduct so that we provide a safe and happy environment for everyone.

Rugby Youth Badminton Squad Code of Conduct

Badminton England (BE)  Safeguarding and Protecting Young People Policy can be found on the BE website,  Badminton England Safeguarding

Coaches and assistants have DBS certification through Badminton England.  DBS checks (Disclosure and Barring Service) encompass the previous CRB checks (Criminal Records Bureau).  As members of the Coaching Register, coaches are insured and licensed by BADMINTON England to carry out coaching activities.

Issues can be raised with the club welfare officer, or any of the club officials.  The club policy is formalised in two documents, a constitution and the code of conduct appendix.

For your safety during the Rugby Youth Badminton Sessions please observe the following :

  • DO wear sports clothing and suitable sports footwear (unsuitable footwear can cause ankle injuries). Not all trainers are suitable for indoor court activity – please ask if you want advice.
  • DO have shoe laces properly tied at all times.
  • DO NOT walk on court, or too near a court, whilst others are playing.
  • DO NOT hit the shuttle at someone else (eye injuries can cause blindness).

Players are requested to follow these instructions, otherwise they will be asked to leave badminton sessions.
