Rugby Youth Badminton Squad finished the 2023/24 season with two doubles tournaments on Saturday 10th May. This was a doubles team tournament, where teams of a minimum of four players completed against each other. The 9.30am took part in team games.
At 10.30am the blue team comprising of Raghav Kulkarni, Anish Naladala, Hasini Vajrala and Pranati Yedla take home the Mark Gallagher Memorial Trophy, winning by 16 points ahead of the second team placed, yellow team with Praneeth Metla, Hurshitha Pugazhenthi, Anshika Singh and Skye Twynholm as its members. Closely followed by the green team and red teams with 133 and 123 points, respectively.
In the 11.30am tournament the silver medals were awarded to the green team comprising of Harry Cutler, Ellie Hetherington, Paul Hetherington (last minute replacement), Ronav Sakthirajan, Sidra Iman Shaik and Toby Taylor. With the winning red team with Aakash Choudhary, Kavin Godavathi, Ethan Hetherington, Nikhil Paladugu, Gagana Pendyala and Rikza Iman Shaik as its members, taking away the gold medals and were awarded the Gloria Hudson Rosebowl.
All contests were played in a good spirit, with players giving their all.
Awards for the Most Improved player in each of the groups were presented to Jiyanshi Shah, Praneeth Metla and Aakash Choudhary.
